Welcome to Electronic Franking Machines, the review site that will help you find the right franking machine for your business without the hassle. Currently, there are many different types of machines to choose from, and while they all offer the same service, there are many differences between the models. Price and reliability are two major factors as well as speed, ease of use, versatility and so on. While often subtle, these differences can make a huge difference to a company that uses franking machines on a daily basis.
Why Use Franking Machines?
For companies that handle large amounts of mail, franking machines are indispensible. Not only do they save a huge amount of time compared with manually stamping each letter, but they also offer savings on postal costs. A franking machine can give a 2p discount on every first class stamp. While that may not seem much in itself, these pennies soon add up. For example, a company that posts 100 letters a day will save £10 per week plus a much bigger saving in time. In reality, franking machines soon pay for themselves.
Which Machine Should I Buy?
There are many factors to consider when buying an electronic franking machine. These include:
- Cost Of The Franking Machine
- Speed Of The Machine
- Loading Facilities
- Ease Of Use
- Additional Features
For some companies, the additional features are very important. Some of the better machines will have good security options and have the ability to slogans and return addresses to your envelopes. Loading Facilities are also important - A good quality loading system can save a lot of time.
In the UK, there are many models to choose from, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. We have reviewed many of the top models available today, and are glad to say that there is one model that stands out from the crowd as the clear winner.
Neopost Autostamp
Neopost's Autostamp Franking Machine is by far our favourite model. The machine itself is reasonably priced and has all the features that a company could ask for. It's fast and has a great loading tray, has good security features and is capable of printing company slogans, return addresses, logos and messages. It offers a 2p discount on every first and second class stamp and uses an inkjet printing system, eliminating the need for stamps. Furthermore, Noepost are currently offering a 30 day free trial of their machine, so you can try before you buy.
QPS Franking Machines
QPS Offer a range of franking machines to suit different needs. Many of their machines are for big companies that deal with massive amount of post. Their K4000 machine for example, is a large machine, roughly 1M x 1.8M in size and is designed for heavy duty use. It can handle almost 3000 letters per hour and has a dozen feeding stations. This is a very quick machine but most companies will not be able to justify the cost when a much smaller machine could meet their demands. QPS also provide smaller machines, but their ease of use and features does not match the award winning Neopost Autostamp. None the less, QPS are a good choice for the most demanding customers.
Mymail Franking Machine
The Mymail Machine is a decent small machine which is similar to the Neopost Machine. Unfortunately it doesn't perform quite as well as Neopost's. It is slightly more expensive and doesn't have the security options or excellent loading tray that the Neopost machine offers. However, it is still a quality machine with inkjet printing and memory functions.
The Verdict
There are dozens of models to choose from, and we have chosen some of the better models to review here. Ultimately, the Neopost Autostamp is the clear winner. It is fast, has great features is very affordable and will meet the demands of all but the most demanding users. The free trial offered is a really nice touch and is great for smaller companies who are trying to decide whether a franking machine is worth their while.
